I live in the overlap.

I’m Ron Xing, a Singapore-based technology leader who likes translating between the people who build complex systems and the people who need to make them useful.

From systems to markets

My career started close to the machines: electrical engineering, databases, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems. It gradually moved closer to the market, where architecture diagrams meet budgets, buying committees, and the wonderfully non-linear reality of APAC.

Today, I work at RisingWave across APJ, helping teams turn real-time data into infrastructure for analytics and AI. I studied electrical and electronic engineering at NTU and later computer and information technology at the University of Pennsylvania. That combination still shapes how I think: start with first principles, then ask whether the idea survives contact with a customer.

Why rontime?

This is my place to connect dots across data, AI, B2B go-to-market, and the many markets inside “APAC.” Expect field notes, architecture sketches, experiments, and the occasional opinion that was too long for a meeting. The goal is not to predict the future. It is to notice the present a little earlier.

Outside work, I’ve spent more than a decade around community and youth programmes in Singapore. It is a useful antidote to technology hype: real people rarely behave like neat rows in a spreadsheet.

Connect

The easiest place to find me is LinkedIn. If you’re building something around data, AI, or B2B technology in APAC, say hello. Strong opinions are welcome; kopi is even better.
